I didn't have the privilege of getting to know Ted until he was already in his 70's. At that time Jan was still with us but she went to be with our Lord before I really got to know her. In the following years I grew to realise what an honoured, loved, and respected man Ted was, and how truly he deserved that honour, love, and respect. His whole-hearted devotion to Christ, to his family, and to his church family was plain for all to see.
I miss you Ted, but I look forward to seeing you again in the eternal realm of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I cannot underestimate the role this lovely gentle man played in my life over the 40 years I knew him. During all the major events of my life he was there in the background, offering a gentle, parental guidance of Love, Support & experienced Wisdom. Always just when I needed it the most. Uncle Ted , as he was known in our household, was a true vessel for Gods work. This precious gift that both he & Jan had will now be sorely missed by so very many people. I am greatful for having had them in my life. May they both rest in Gods peace Luv Catherine x

these were the words I had put together for Dad's Fathers Day card
Dad,
Thanks for all you've done through the years—
for showing us what it means to be a good man.
A man who loves his family.
A man who keeps his faith.
A man who does right by his friends.
You're more than a blessing...you're an example of how one ordinary life can be extraordinary.
With Love & Respect
Shorty
A good man obtains favour from the Lord. Proverbs 12:2 NIV
